About Vidcaster Analytics

Vidcaster Analytics is the second tab in the Admin because we feel that analyzing video analytics is key to understanding the success of your video strategy and how to optimize it further. Analytics is comprised of five sections: Conversions, Engagement, Audience, Report Builder, and User Profiles. Each section answers a different set of questions in the analysis process. Together, the sections provide a complete story about your video strategy.

Conversions

We start with your bottom line, Conversions, to measure the performance of your ultimate business goals for video. Whether you are collecting leads, paid subscriptions, or counting annotation clicks and social shares, Conversions will give you the breakdown on the effectiveness of each conversion touch point. Customers using viewer identifying features, such as Paywall, Leadwall, and Private Site, can see a list of their most engaged converters in the Top Viewers table on this page.

Conversions

Engagement

Once you know how your conversion touch points are performing, you can analyze areas of improvement on the Engagement tab. Here you can see your top performing videos, which annotations are driving clicks, quiz submissions, and much more. Filter by date, category, and specific video at the top of the page to drill down further.

Engagement

Audience

Audience is a report about who your viewers are. See which country they came from, the referrer url, and details on their computer and browser. At the top of the page we track New Viewers. After our January 2014 release, we are tracking how many completely new viewers are playing your videos. Watch your New Viewer count and set a goal to drive new traffic each month.

Audience

Report Builder

Download a PDF of Conversions, Engagement, and Audience, or go to the Report Builder and download a CSV to access the raw data. The Report Builder allows you to make eight different reports, all exportable with filters on date, category, and video. Pull up a report and see all results paginated so you can click through and see the full story.

Report Builder

User Profiles

All tracked viewers have their own User Profile that can be accessed from any email link in your Notifications feed, the Conversions Top Viewers table, or the Report Builder Viewer Plays report. The User Profile has three sections: Activity Feed, Videos, and Quizzes. The Activity Feed shows a timeline of all events by the viewer. Each play activity includes a heat map of the seconds watched during the play event. The Videos tab has a full history of videos watched by the viewer. Click on a title and see an aggregate heat map below to get a full story of content consumed by the viewer. Finally, the Quizzes tab shows a history of all quizzes taken. Expand a quiz to see all submits. Select a submit to load a display of all questions, answers, and how the viewer answered.
